FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 2, 2021 Rockville, Md., Oct. 2, 2021 -- David Blair and supporters celebrated the grand opening of the Blair for Montgomery campaign office. Blair, a community advocate, philanthropist, and businessman, spoke about the need for vigorous, effective, and tested leadership to restore the County’s public school system to one of the best in the nation, revitalize the County’s stagnant economy, and bring greater opportunity to County residents who for too long have been underserved. “Montgomery County can do better,” Blair said. “Coming out of COVID, we can tackle the challenges before us so everyone gets access to high-quality education, jobs, healthcare, and transportation.”
Supporters and residents expressed the issues important to them and the reasons they’re supporting David on an interactive display in the campaign office. Staff was on-hand to assist participants register to vote for the June 28, 2021 Democratic primary. “I’m energized by the conversations I’ve had with residents, business owners, and workers since launching this campaign in March,” Blair said. “There is a real belief in this County that we don’t have to settle.”
Blair recently released his Equity Plan, One Montgomery: Building Fairness and Equity For All. The plan lays out specific policies he will implement and support as County Executive in six key areas: An Inclusive Economy, A Safe Community, An Inclusive Public School System, Access to Affordable Housing, Access to Affordable Health Care, and A Unified Community. The Democratic Primary for County Executive is set for June 28, 2022 with Early Voting from June 16, 2022 through June 23, 2022.
